Ignacio Diaz, Jr., BM, MM - Co- Founder, Diaz | Anderson Music Studios
Instructor of Music - Piano, Harpsichord and Composition
Ignacio holds a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance, Bachelor of Liberal Arts from Augustana College, Rock Island, Il. and a Master of Music in Piano Performance and Piano Pedagogy from Northwestern University, Evanston, Il. Ignacio also completed a Suzuki Method apprenticeship with Yasuko Joichi, a student of Dr. Shinich Suzuki, Japan.
In addition to thirty five years of teaching, Ignacio has experience performing as a solo and chamber musician. He has held a position as an assistant choir director and conducting instructor for 15 years at a local private school. Ignacio is a member of Music Teachers National Association (MTNA), Washington State Music Teachers Association (WSMTA). He served as Vice President (2015-2016), President-Elect (2016-2017), President (2017-2018) for Olympia Music Teachers Association (OMTA) the local chapter of MTNA.
Many of Ignacio’s students have gone on to study music at the collegiate and university level, won or placed in competitions and have successful careers in the music industry.
Ignacio lives in Tumwater with his wife Linda and daughter Palisades, has a son, Brad, who lives in Olympia, and a daughter, Lilly, who is currently attending OSU, Cascades, in Bend, OR.
Matthew Anderson - Co- Founder, Diaz | Anderson Music Studios
Instructor of Music - Guitar, Bass and Ukelele
Matthew Anderson, an Instructor of Music at Diaz | Anderson Music Studios, brings 10 years of professional music instruction to the studios. He is an experienced guitarist and luthier. He has also provided consultation for voice and instrumental recording, in addition to studio-less recording techniques.
Matthew studied guitar and recording techniques through Berklee Music Online, and studied music and art throughout his AA and with private instructors throughout the northwestern US and Canada. He has collaborated in theater productions, and with churches, schools, local and regional musicians.
Matthew also builds and repairs instruments when not in the studio. His focus is acoustic and electric guitars, as well as ukuleles.
Matt lives in Tumwater, Washington with his wife Melissa and son, Max.
