Ignacio holds a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance, Bachelor of Liberal Arts from Augustana College, Rock Island, Il. and a Master of Music in Piano Performance and Piano Pedagogy from Northwestern University, Evanston, Il. Ignacio also completed a Suzuki Method apprenticeship with Yasuko Joichi, a student of Dr. Shinich Suzuki, Japan.

In addition to thirty years of teaching, Ignacio has experience performing as a solo and chamber musician. He acts as a vocal coach at Diaz | Anderson Music Studios and has held a position as an assistant choir director and choir conducting instructor for 11 years at a local private school. Ignacio is a member of Music Teachers National Association (MTNA), Washington State Music Teachers Association (WSMTA) and current Vice President (2015-2016), as well as President-Elect (2016-2017) of the Olympia Music Teachers Association (OMTA).

Many of Ignacio’s students have gone on to study music at the collegiate and university level, won or placed in competitions or have careers in the music industry.

Ignacio lives in Olympia with his wife Linda, and children Brad, Lilly and Palisades.

Matthew Anderson

Instructor of Music – Guitar (Acoustic and Electric), Bass and Ukelele

Co-Founder – Diaz | Anderson Music Studios

Matthew Anderson, an Instructor of Music at Diaz | Anderson Music Studios, brings 10 years of professional music instruction to the studios. He is an experienced guitarist and luthier. He has also provided consultation for voice and instrumental recording, in addition to studio-less recording techniques.

Matthew studied guitar and recording techniques through Berklee Music Online, and studied music and art throughout his AA and with private instructors throughout the northwestern US and Canada. He has collaborated in theater productions, and with churches, schools, local and regional musicians.

Matthew also builds and repairs instruments when not in the studio. His focus is acoustic and electric guitars, as well as ukuleles.

Matt lives in Tumwater, Washington with his wife Melissa and son, Max.
